Yarlung Valley

The Yarlung Valley is a valley south of the Yarlung Tsangpo river in Lhoka, south-central Tibet, around the town of Tsetang. It was the home of the line of chiefs who united Tibet in the seventh century and founded the Tibetan Empire, and the neighbouring Chongye valley holds their burial mounds. It later became the seat of the Phagmodrupa rulers at Nedong.
