Event
Boston Tea Party
The Boston Tea Party was a political protest on 16 December 1773 in which American colonists, some disguised as Mohawk Indians, threw 342 chests of East India Company tea into Boston Harbor in defiance of the Tea Act. Britain answered with the punitive Coercive Acts of 1774, which hardened colonial resistance and led towards the American Revolutionary War.
