Bresse
Bresse is a historical region of eastern France, lying mostly in the Ain department between the Saône and the Jura, with Bourg-en-Bresse as its main town. It passed to the House of Savoy in 1272 through marriage and remained Savoyard until the Treaty of Lyon of 1601 ceded it to France. The region is known for its farming and especially for the Bresse chicken.
