Cajuns

The Cajuns are a people of southern Louisiana in the United States, descended mainly from Acadians deported by the British from Nova Scotia after 1755. Many exiles settled in Spanish Louisiana from the 1760s, and their descendants kept a distinct French dialect, the Catholic faith and a culture known for its music and cooking.
