Carduchi
The Carduchi were a warlike people of the mountains of south-eastern Anatolia, north of the Tigris, in the region later called Corduene. Xenophon describes how the Greek mercenaries of the Ten Thousand fought their way through their country for seven days during the retreat of 401 BCE, suffering more at their hands than from the Persian king's army. Their name is usually connected with the later Corduene.
