Castilian Civil War

1351–1369 · 14th century · Part of the Hundred Years' War

The Castilian Civil War was fought from 1351 to 1369 between King Peter of Castile and his half-brother Henry of Trastámara. It became part of the Anglo-French conflict, with England supporting Peter and France sending Bertrand du Guesclin to aid Henry; despite Peter's victory at Nájera (1367), Henry killed him after Montiel in 1369 and founded the Trastámara dynasty.
