Chirmiri is a coal-mining town in the hills of northern Chhattisgarh, India, in the area of the former princely state of Korea, or Koriya. The coal seams around it were opened up in the 20th century and are worked by South Eastern Coalfields, and mining remains the basis of the local economy. It lies close to the neighbouring town of Manendragarh.
