Chitrakoot

Also known as Chitrakut

Chitrakoot is a holy town on the border of Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh in central India, in the Bundelkhand region. In the Ramayana it is the forest where Rama, Sita and Lakshmana spent part of their exile, and pilgrims walk round the sacred Kamadgiri hill. The small estates of Kamta Rajaula and others lay nearby.
