Sita
Sita is the heroine of the Ramayana, wife of Rama and daughter of King Janaka of Videha, who in the epic found her in a furrow while ploughing. Her abduction by Ravana and her rescue drive the story. In Hinduism she is revered as an incarnation of the goddess Lakshmi and an ideal of devotion, and Janakpur in Nepal claims to be her birthplace.
