Codex of Calkiní
The Codex of Calkiní is a colonial document written in Yucatec Maya in the Latin alphabet, compiled from the late 16th century in Calkiní, Campeche. It records the lineages, lands and boundaries of the Canul lords of the province of Ah Canul and describes the coming of the Spanish conquerors in the 1540s. It is one of the main sources for Maya political life on the eve of the conquest.
