Constitution of Latvia
The Constitution of Latvia, the Satversme, was adopted by the Constituent Assembly on 15 February 1922 and came into force in November 1922. It established a parliamentary republic with a single-chamber Saeima and a president elected by parliament. Suspended after Kārlis Ulmanis's coup of 1934 and during Soviet rule, it was fully restored in 1993, making it one of the oldest constitutions still in force in Europe.
