Court of the Myrtles

14th century · 14th century · Also known as Patio de los Arrayanes

The Court of the Myrtles (Patio de los Arrayanes) is the central courtyard of the Comares Palace in the Alhambra, Granada, built mainly in the reign of Yusuf I in the fourteenth century. A long rectangular pool flanked by hedges of myrtle reflects the Comares Tower and the arcades at either end, a classic example of Nasrid palace design.
