Cross Group

692 · 7th century

The Cross Group is a set of three temple-pyramids at Palenque, the Temple of the Cross, the Temple of the Foliated Cross and the Temple of the Sun, dedicated in 692 by King K'inich Kan B'ahlam II. Their carved panels show the king with his father Pakal and record the mythical origins of the city's patron gods and dynasty.
