Częstochowa

Częstochowa is a city in the Silesian Voivodeship of southern Poland, on the Warta river. It is famous for the Jasna Góra Monastery, founded in 1382 by Pauline monks, which houses the icon of the Black Madonna and is the main Catholic pilgrimage site in Poland. The city later grew into an industrial centre.
