Dabiran
The dabiran were the class of scribes and administrators in the Sasanian Empire. They formed one of the four estates of Sasanian society, alongside priests, warriors and commoners, in a hierarchy formalised in Zoroastrian religious law. Their skills underpinned the empire's bureaucracy and later influenced Islamic administration.
