Dae Gwang-hyeon

fl. 934 · 10th century

Dae Gwang-hyeon was the crown prince of Balhae, a descendant of its founder Dae Joyeong, who led a large body of refugees to Goryeo after the Khitan Liao dynasty destroyed Balhae in 926. King Taejo of Goryeo welcomed him in 934, gave him the royal surname Wang and entered him in the royal family register, as Goryeo presented itself as heir to Goguryeo and Balhae.
