Dae Yeon-rim

fl. 1029 · 11th century

Dae Yeon-rim was a descendant of Dae Joyeong, founder of Balhae, and an officer of the Khitan Liao dynasty at Dongjing, modern Liaoyang. In 1029 he rebelled and proclaimed the state of Heungyo to revive Balhae, seeking help from Goryeo. The Liao crushed the revolt in 1030.
