Daedalus

Daedalus is a craftsman and inventor of Greek mythology, said to have built the Labyrinth at Knossos for King Minos to hold the Minotaur. Imprisoned by Minos, he escaped on wings of feathers and wax that he made for himself and his son Icarus, who flew too near the sun and fell into the sea. Greeks credited him with the invention of many crafts and with the earliest statues.
