Dessau
Dessau is a city in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany, where the Mulde joins the Elbe. It was the residence of the princes of Anhalt-Dessau from 1603 and the capital of the united Duchy of Anhalt from 1863. In the 20th century it was home to the Junkers aircraft works and, from 1925 to 1932, to the Bauhaus school of design, whose building by Walter Gropius is a World Heritage Site. It was merged with Roßlau in 2007.
