Detmold

Detmold is a city in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, at the edge of the Teutoburg Forest. It became the main residence of the rulers of Lippe, whose Renaissance palace still stands, and was the capital of the Principality and then the Free State of Lippe until 1947. The Hermannsdenkmal monument and the Externsteine rocks lie nearby.
