Dhruva Dharavarsha

r. c. 780–793 · 8th century · Also known as Dhruva Dharavarsha Rashtrakuta

Dhruva Dharavarsha was a king of the Rashtrakuta dynasty of the Deccan who reigned from about 780 to 793. Seizing the throne from his elder brother, he led the first Rashtrakuta expedition to the north around 786, defeating the Pratihara Vatsaraja and the Pala Dharmapala in the Ganges–Yamuna Doab. His campaign drew the Deccan power into the tripartite struggle for Kannauj that lasted two centuries.
