Dillingen an der Donau
Dillingen an der Donau is a town in Bavarian Swabia, Germany, on the Danube. The seat of the counts of Dillingen, it passed to the bishops of Augsburg in 1258 and became their residence after they left their cathedral city. Cardinal Otto Truchsess von Waldburg founded its university in 1551, run by the Jesuits from 1563, which made the town a centre of the Counter-Reformation.
