Dingling
The Dingling were an ancient people of the steppes south of Lake Baikal, recorded in Chinese sources from the third century BCE, when they were subdued by the Xiongnu. Many later settled in northern China, and in the late fourth century the Dingling Zhai clan founded the short-lived state of Zhai Wei. They are generally seen as ancestors of the Turkic-speaking Gaoche and Tiele peoples.
