Dodoma

Dodoma is the official capital of Tanzania, in the centre of the country. A small town on the Central Railway built under German rule, it was designated the new capital in 1973, but government offices moved there only slowly, mostly after 2016. It is the seat of the National Assembly and lies in a dry region known for its vineyards.
