Dodona

Dodona in Epirus, north-western Greece, was the oldest oracle of the Greek world, sacred to Zeus and Dione. Priests interpreted the rustling of a sacred oak, and enquirers wrote their questions on lead tablets, many of which survive. Under the Molossian kings it gained a great theatre and became the religious centre of Epirus.
