Athena
Athena was the ancient Greek goddess of wisdom, crafts and war, the virgin daughter of Zeus, said to have sprung fully armed from his head. Patron of Athens, where the Parthenon was her temple, she was worshipped in sanctuaries across the Greek world, at Lindos, Smyrna and Troy among others, often as protector of the citadel. The Romans identified her with Minerva.
