Dole
Dole is a town on the Doubs in the Jura department of eastern France, formerly the capital of the Free County of Burgundy. It housed the county's parliament and, from 1422, its university. It fell to Louis XIV in 1668 and again in 1674, after which Besançon replaced it as capital. Louis Pasteur was born there in 1822.
