Domrémy-la-Pucelle

Also known as Domrémy

Domrémy-la-Pucelle is a village on the Meuse in the Vosges department of north-eastern France. It is the birthplace of Joan of Arc, born there around 1412, and her family house survives as a museum. In her time the village lay on the frontier between lands of the French crown and the duchies of Bar and Lorraine; it later added "la Pucelle" (the Maid) to its name in her honour.
