Duomi Khagan

d. 646 · 7th century · Also known as Bazhuo

Duomi Khagan, named Bazhuo, was the last khagan of the Xueyantuo on the Mongolian steppe. Succeeding his father Zhenzhu Khagan in 645 after killing his brother, he attacked Tang territory while Emperor Taizong campaigned in Korea. His harsh rule alienated subject tribes, and in 646 Tang forces and the Uyghurs crushed him and destroyed the khaganate.
