Dzaoudzi

Dzaoudzi is a town on Petite-Terre, a small island off the east coast of Mayotte in the Comoros archipelago. It became the seat of the sultans of Mayotte, and after France took possession of Mayotte in 1843 it was fortified as the French administrative centre. It served as the capital of the French Comoros until the seat moved to Moroni in the 1960s.
