Dzungaria

Also known as Dzungarian

Dzungaria is a region of northern Xinjiang in north-western China, between the Altai and Tianshan mountains. It was the heartland of the Dzungar Khanate, a long-standing rival of the Qing Empire, until the Qing conquest of the 1750s brought it under Chinese rule.
