East Punjab
East Punjab was the Indian province formed from the eastern part of British Punjab after the partition of 1947. Small princely states and estates in the region were absorbed into it. In 1950 it became the state of Punjab, which was later divided to create Haryana and transfer hill areas to Himachal Pradesh.
