Eberhard II, Count of the Mark
Eberhard II (c. 1255–1308) was Count of the Mark from 1277. He fought on the side of Duke John I of Brabant against the Archbishop of Cologne at the Battle of Worringen in 1288, whose outcome broke Cologne's dominance in Westphalia and secured his county's independence. He then expanded the Mark at the archbishopric's expense.
