Ednyfed Fychan

d. 1246 · 13th century

Ednyfed Fychan was the steward, or distain, of Gwynedd under Llywelyn the Great and his son Dafydd ap Llywelyn, from about 1215 until his death in 1246. He led the princes' administration and diplomacy and was rewarded with lands held free of most dues.
