Eisenach

Eisenach is a town in western Thuringia, Germany, at the edge of the Thuringian Forest, below the Wartburg castle. It was a residence of the Ludowingian landgraves of Thuringia and later the capital of the Duchy of Saxe-Eisenach. Martin Luther went to school there, Johann Sebastian Bach was born there in 1685, and in 1869 the Social Democratic Workers' Party was founded in the town.
