El Tintal

El Tintal is a large Preclassic Maya city in the Mirador Basin of northern Guatemala, linked to El Mirador by a causeway. It contains large temple pyramids and flourished in the Late Preclassic period, from about 300 BCE to 150 CE, with some later reoccupation in the Classic period. Like other sites of the basin, it has suffered from looting.
