Emperor Huizong
Emperor Huizong was a Northern Song emperor, celebrated as a painter, calligrapher and patron of the arts but criticised for political neglect. When the Jurchen Jin captured Kaifeng in 1127, he and his son were taken captive, ending the Northern Song and forcing the Song Dynasty to re-establish itself in the south.
