Etichonids

The Etichonids were a Frankish noble family descended from Adalrich, also called Eticho, Duke of Alsace in the later 7th century. They held the Alsatian duchy until about 740 and founded or endowed monasteries such as Hohenburg, Honau and Murbach. Several later noble houses, among them the counts of Egisheim and possibly the Habsburgs, are thought to descend from them.
