Farrukhabad
Farrukhabad is a city on the Ganges in Uttar Pradesh, India. It was founded in 1714 by the Afghan commander Muhammad Khan Bangash, who named it after the Mughal emperor Farrukhsiyar, and it became the seat of the Bangash nawabs. Ceded to the British East India Company in 1802, it was known for textile printing and trade, and with neighbouring Fatehgarh it forms a twin town.
