Fateh Singh Ahluwalia

1784–1837 · 19th century

Fateh Singh Ahluwalia was the Sikh ruler of Kapurthala and head of the Ahluwalia misl from 1801 until his death. He was a close ally of Ranjit Singh, exchanging turbans with him as a sign of brotherhood and fighting in his campaigns that built the Sikh Empire. Fearing Ranjit Singh's power, he later sought British protection for his lands south of the Sutlej.
