First Dynasty of Uruk

The First Dynasty of Uruk is the series of early kings of Uruk listed in the Sumerian King List, including Meskiaggasher, Enmerkar, Lugalbanda, Dumuzid and Gilgamesh. Its rulers, if historical, may have lived around the twenty-seventh century BCE and appear in Sumerian epics and myths, but none is attested in contemporary inscriptions, and the reigns given for them are legendary.
