Fréjus
Fréjus is a town in the Var department of south-eastern France, near the Mediterranean coast. It began as Forum Julii, a market town founded by Julius Caesar or his heir, and under Augustus it became a Roman colony and naval base where ships captured at Actium were stationed. Its Roman amphitheatre, aqueduct and early Christian baptistery survive.
