Fremantle
Fremantle is a port city at the mouth of the Swan River in Western Australia, part of the Perth metropolitan area. Founded in 1829 with the Swan River Colony, it was named after Captain Charles Fremantle, who claimed the west coast for Britain. Convicts arriving from 1850 built Fremantle Prison, now a World Heritage Site, and it remains Western Australia's main port.
