German Naval Laws
The German Naval Laws were acts passed in 1898 and 1900, sponsored by Admiral Tirpitz, which provided for a large battle fleet. The naval build-up provoked an arms race with Britain and contributed to the tensions that drew the German Empire into the First World War.
