Gheorghe Cantacuzino
Gheorghe Cantacuzino was a Wallachian boyar, son of Prince Șerban Cantacuzino, who served as the first ban of Craiova under Habsburg rule after Oltenia passed to Austria by the Treaty of Passarowitz in 1718. Imperial officials soon curtailed his authority as Vienna centralised the province's administration.
