Glaphyra

1st century BCE · 1st century BCE

Glaphyra was a Cappadocian princess, daughter of King Archelaus of Cappadocia. She married Alexander, a son of Herod the Great executed in 7 BCE, then Juba II of Mauretania, and finally Herod Archelaus, ethnarch of Judaea and her first husband's half-brother. This last marriage offended Jewish law and added to Archelaus's unpopularity.
