1700 · 18th century · Also known as Old Swedes' Church

Gloria Dei (Old Swedes') Church is a church in the Southwark district of Philadelphia, built between 1697 and 1700 by the Swedish Lutheran congregation descended from the settlers of New Sweden. It is the oldest church in Pennsylvania. The congregation kept ties with the Church of Sweden until it joined the Episcopal Church in 1845, and the building is a National Historic Site.
