Philadelphia
Philadelphia is the largest city of Pennsylvania, on the Delaware river in the eastern United States. William Penn founded it in 1682 as the capital of his Quaker colony, on land earlier settled by Lenape and Swedes. It was the largest city of colonial America, the meeting place of the Continental Congress, which adopted the Declaration of Independence there in 1776, and the seat of the Constitutional Convention of 1787.
