Gremi
Gremi is a 16th-century architectural complex in Kakheti, eastern Georgia, the remains of the royal town built by King Levan of Kakheti. Founded around 1565, it was a thriving town on the trade route between Persia and Russia until Shah Abbas I destroyed it in 1615–1616. Its surviving Church of the Archangels and royal tower stand on a hill above the Alazani valley.
