Griffin Warrior Tomb
The Griffin Warrior Tomb is a shaft grave of the early Mycenaean period near the Palace of Nestor at Pylos, discovered in 2015 by Jack Davis and Sharon Stocker. Dating from about 1450 BCE, it held a warrior buried with more than 1,400 objects, including weapons, gold rings, an ivory plaque with a griffin and the finely carved Pylos Combat Agate, showing strong links with Minoan Crete.
